A long ago bankruptcy was not completed. There was a bankruptcy 20 years ago but it was never completed. Now Revenue Canada wants money or for me to finish the bankruptcy.
I am in a different place now. I am starting a small business and I do not want a bankruptcy on my credit rating.
If I completed the bankruptcy would it be anywhere on my credit rating now?
If you get your discharge from bankruptcy, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy will notify all the credit bureaus and there will be a note on your credit report stating you were discharged from bankruptcy.
This will remain on your credit report for six years.
So long as you are an undischarged bankrupt your assets are in jeopardy because the creditors in your bankruptcy can pursue you for collection.
