Can we apply to have the cost of living out of province reduced from our income calculation?
I work out of province and have living expenses that I personally pay. Can I apply to have these costs to remain at work out of province deducted from my income? I could quit and do nothing until my bankruptcy term is over and pay back very little which would mean I will lose my job – or I can continue to work and accumulate a sum to pay back. I feel if I’m working and paying into the bankruptcy there should be something we can do. The Cost of living is about $150 a day plus flight costs to come home.
is this a reasonable request and one I could pose to the courts?
If you are able to use these deductions when you complete your tax returns then you should be able to use them in the bankruptcy.
