If I file bankruptcy, can I keep the vehicle?
I recently financed a new vehicle but have found the payments to be way too much to keep up (I had a vehicle, then traded it after 8 months, then traded that one after 6 months). If I file bankruptcy, can I keep the vehicle? I also have some other debts, old credit card, payday loans, and a big utility bill. I am in WAY OVER my head and need help! Thanks.
When you claim bankruptcy you will be able to keep your car if the equity is within the exemption for a motor vehicle as set out by your province.
