Is there a statute of limitation on bankruptcy?
We moved to another province and reported our move several times. If they don’t come after us in a certain length of time, can the bankruptcy be forgiven?
If you did not get a discharge from your bankruptcy, then you are still in bankruptcy and will remain an undischarged bankrupt until you get discharged.
You will have to go to court to obtain your discharge.
Alternatively, you can ask your former trustee to go to court to get your discharge.
Your former trustee may not want to deal with your file and if he does he will charge you to reopen the file.
In addition, you will have to be able to satisfy the requirements set down in the trustee’s 170 Report. If you do not have a copy of the 170 Report you can get one at court.
