Is there any way creditor can claim my house because my spouse is bearing mortgage payment?
I’ve had the house in my name (Single owner) but the mortgage is paid by my spouse because I don’t have a job right now.
My spouse is also in trouble due to a financial crisis and wants to go for bankruptcy.
If my spouse goes to file bankruptcy, then what’s going to happen to my house? Is there any way creditor can claim my house because my spouse is bearing mortgage payment right now?
The fact that your spouse is making the mortgage payments on a temporary basis because you are currently not working will not mean the home, in your name, will become part of his or her bankruptcy.
